Days 66/67/68 – 15th/16th/17th March 2013 – is the rot setting in?
Friday
Usual breakfast, crudities, plus Thai Green curry with stir fry veggies in the evening. Curry was lovely, it was a Charlie Bingham’s one from Waitrose and this portion was about 400 calories it wasn’t exactly on plan, but was worth the extra calories.
Saturday
No pictures today, read on……….
I was going for a day of R&R and meditation entitled Stress Free Living, so not really sure what to expect eating-wise so started with my usual breakfast.
Fairly stressful final part of my journey as my Sat Nav took me to completely the wrong place and I arrived just in time for the start. Phew, not exactly a good start to a day about Stress Free Living.
During morning coffee I had one plane biscuit – so far so good(ish).
Lunch was vegetarian Dahl, Rice, Salad and Veg, followed by fresh fruit salad and a scoop of ice cream.
However the place where the event was taking place had chocolate all over the place, so much so, it was a point of discussion amongst the attendees. There were chocolate biscuits, chocolate mini eggs, bars of chocolate everywhere. We talked to the instructor about the chocolate and various other goodies lying around, and she said it was all about giving away stuff that you liked but that you should enjoy things you like, but have them in moderation and not feel too attached to ‘having them’ all the time. I rather like this philosophy and will give it some thought. In the meantime, I and my fellow attendees enjoyed a quite a few mini eggs after lunch, and then I had a chocolate biscuit with tea.
That evening I had dinner with my brother and his wife. We had a delicious steak, chips (I know!), onions and veggies. My niece then came home from work at M&S with heaps of discounted food and she plonked a large box of valentine’s Day chocolates on the table and said these are for you lot. I had about 6 six chocolates, my brother had loads and my sister in law had a couple and in no time the box was nearly finished (it was only a single layer, as if that was really important?) Ironically, my niece was not bothered at all about eating any of the chocolates. I also had a glass and half of red wine.
Sunday
Got sidetracked doing some bits and pieces and only had time for some porridge made with milk and a spot of jam in the middle.
Porridge is quick and it does fill me up but I must make the effort to plan for my breakfast when I don’t have a lot of time. In retrospect I could have cooked Quorn sausages and boiled eggs and had them cold this morning with tomatoes and mushrooms in the morning….. But I didn’t!
Went for a 7 K walk with my friend and our dogs in the rain and hail…. Stopped off at a cup of tea and my friend asked for a flapjack so I thought, great, this is an opportunity for me to have one myself, so I did! And no! I didn’t photograph it.
Later in the afternoon we made a huge Quorn stir fry made with hoisin sauce chilli sauce and dark soy sauce.
OK, I HAVE DECIDED THAT THAT IS IT, I HAVE HAD ENOUGH TREATS AND I AM GOING TO BE GOOD AND GOLD FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS.
